Description

Lysander's character design is a homage to mana. I used this picture of mana as a reference.

Since this is a WIP I won't get into the sketchiness of the drawing.
I really love the grey scale color palette currently, I feel it really gives this scene a good melancholy vibe that you would typically feel from being in a graveyard. The red on the statue in the middle ground of the picture helps move the eye to observe everything and I think that is a very clever use of limited color. While the perspective is a little off, I do enjoy where you have placed the characters in relation to the environment, it does make them appear apart of the scene and not just floating around.

You specifically asked for a bit of feedback on the background and I do agree with you that it seems a little cluttered, but only on the one side. It stands out and draws the eye to it a lot due to the fact that it is very obviously taken from a photograph. The horizon line needs to be a little more fluid from one point to the next, but this doesn't mean that it needs to be straight. The photograph reference has a very different horizon line then what you currently have on the right side of the picture and that is causing a lot of the cluttered feeling. The difference in the horizon line is also making everything in the photo look a lot tinier then it should be in relation to the front most character. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but most of the issues with the background are due to the horizon line really. Some artists do prefer to stack things a lot to one side so I cannot nit-pick a lot at that just because it isn't a preference of mine.

Overall, I really love the concept and I would love if you could show me this when it is finished! Hope I didn't ramble or sound rude.
